The Warrior Series swords are very handsome in their own right and share the same steel, heat treatment, and sharpness as their more expensive Emperor counterparts. In our efforts to reduce the costliness of the blades, we have omitted the expensive mirror polishing that we used on our Emperor Swords to create a new series of Japanese swords with a more practical finish. our Warrior Series addresses this problem directly.
Still, we are aware that there are some people who want a battle-ready sword but hope to find one at a more affordable price. The Japanese swords of the Emperor Series have proven, since their initial introduction almost five years ago, to be quite popular with many of our customers. And with the RDP there are many different colors and styles to choose from. it has all iron fittings on the sword which the CS Warrior probably does too. Edge alignment takes alot of practice with any sword though.Īside from the RDP feeling lighter and better balanced. If you can do that you don't need the durability that the CS warrior has. This, IMO, makes it easier to control edge alignment and thus get better cuts. Most RDP weigh in around 2.5lbs, about average, but when you start swinging one you realize it feels lighter and faster than a blade of average weight does. While I'm not a big fan of Ronin and don't usually recommend them to people, they are suprisingly agile. More durable doesn't make a better sword. I've seen them take sets(which can be fixed for the most part on a TH blade)cutting through 1"-1.5" maples(I know you are not supposed to chop trees with katana, but people do it, including myself from time to time.) Now that being said. However, I have seen two Ronin Dojo Pros roll their edge on rolled up soaked newspaper targets. This is not true of the Ronin, they like to claim they are durable swords and I'm not saying they aren't. Next to a Raptor or Renshu may be the most durable blade anywhere near that price. The CS Warrior can take more abuse no doubt.
